Youth UpRising was born from the efforts of a group of passionate and committed volunteers who recognized that the time for change in East Oakland had come.  Volunteers remain an essential component in helping us achieve our ambitious mission of community transformation powered by youth leadership.

Volunteer opportunities range from one time or short term to longer term contracts.  We are always interested in matching personal interests with the needs of the organization.
